I've had nothing but good times at the Unicorn! The staff has been nothing but super friendly and attentive, and the food has always been good!

This was the first drinking establishment I was taken to when I moved to Calgary.....I was so impressed with the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place I recommend it to everyone! Thanks so much.

When I first moved to Calgary, I was stuck taking a cheque downtown for my boss. Annoyed, I began walking back to my hugely overcharged parking stall and saw the Unicorn. I thought that I'd return to visit it but quickly realized I should enjoy the moment, while I was being paid for it. I went into the Unicorn and enjoyed a pint and some time to myself, one of the best times and memories I have ever had and ever will have of Calgary.

Normally I really enjoy the Unicorn. It's got great ambience and decent food (other than having switched types of sausage to go with the perogies). My last experience sucked servicewise, but normally it's a wonderful place to be. I rated the beer N/A because I don't drink it - but their selection of other drinks (alcoholic and non) is more than enough to suit whatever mood I'm in. :)

I've always had friendly service at the Unicorn, within a reasonable amount of time considering the size of the place. I think the 2 people who have had problems being "assulted" there (if they are 2 people b/c it's suspicious to see both of them misspell the same word) were probably escorted out for good reason.

I love the Unicorn, I always have. Every once in a while you don't get the best service, but normally it is top notch! I've spent countless evening there and never once had any of those awfull things happen to me, nor have I even heard of them till today.
I seriously doubt any of the other comments on this site are even faintly true.

First of all, the staff is not arrogant, they're just better than most people. If anybody is treated harshly,restrained or removed, they did something to merit such action. Insolence is not tolerated, and that's reassuring since people risk being killed in bars nowadays..."do unto others..."

I can't beleive this web site allows such childish fabricated reviews. Most of the stuff i read here is pretty good. If someone has a problem with The Unicorn they should contact The Unicorn directly and not hide behind some third party web site.

Arrogant staff told my mother to fuck off bacause she tried to send back her steak. Needless to say we didn't stick around to eat, since we were intimidated and angry. The other reviews on this site may be true, we saw the staff restraining a woman as we were leaving. I suppose it will take a murder here to shut down this scummy place, don't let it be you. Boycott the Unicorn!!!
